Celebrating the amazing beauty of Georgia O'Keefe's
“Iris” paintings, I decided to take all of those individual flower petals and
create an erotic flower. My first attempt with “Culmination” looked much more like a sand-dollar than a flower, so I knew I needed to
spend more time crafting each individual flower petal. Over the next decade, various
models gladly helped me collect “flower petals” of many different shapes and
sizes, but it still took an additional decade to complete the project. Different models
were used to create the three unique flowers. I think the use of pussy willows to fill the
arrangement also adds a humorous touch to it. |
