ArtMolds, a New Jersey based manufacturer of art kits, mold-making and casting materials, and the Association of Lifecasters International (ALI) co-sponsored the first annual Life Casting Awards for outstanding artistic achievement in the service of humanity. They jointly announced the winners of the 2006 Life Casting Awards today.

"This unique award was created to promote public awareness for the art of life casting, which is an ancient art form dating back 3500 years," said Ed McCormick, co-founder and Managing Director of Lifecasters International. "But we also want to emphasize the spirit of giving. The Life Casting Awards were awarded to artists who have created a meritorious life casting work which has been gifted to a member of the general public."

I was honored to be a recipient for ALI's 2006 Lifecasting Award for the "Most Outrageous" sculpture for the "Dali Skull" sculpture I did, inspired by a painting by Salvador Dali.  Its amazing to be rewarded for an act of love, but it was also a great honor to receive this beautiful award created for ALI by Philip HitchcockI have long been in awe of his work.
