I was looking forward to working with Sativa Verte for several months, but it was hard
to arrange a date that worked for both of us. Sadly, on the day before Sativa came
over to be cast, her pet ferret of many years, died after a long illness. Rather
than cancel, she tearfully drove over to my studio, still looking forward to being
cast. This "Empty Nest" sculpture is a sad memorial
for her lost companion.
