Helena of Troy

(The Face That Launched 1000 Ships)

helenaoftroy.jpg (22517 bytes)

"Helena of Troy"- the face that launched a thousand ships!

The most beautiful woman in the world, seduced by Paris with the aid of Aphrodite, kidnapped from Sparta and taken to Troy. The Trojan War was fought to regain her because the Trojans would not give her up.

While working on my sculpture of Helena Antonaccio, Playboy’s Miss June of 1969, this story kept coming to mind. To be willing to lay down your life for such beauty must lie in the heart of a true romantic.

This sculpture was featured in Playboy's "Playmate News", and I thank Helena Antonaccio for that.  This sculpture is now a part of Helena's collection.
